As has been already noted, this is primarily a working farm and then a campsite. If you dream of pristine, sterile campsites with groomed hedges and everything in neat, orderly rows this is probably not for you. However, Campingplatz Gerber has an appealing ramshackle charm which worked for us.

This site is primarily a farm and secondly a campsite.
The pitches have no hard standing and previous flood evidence, deep ruts and materials used to lever vehicles from the mud were strewn about. Toilet and showers not pleasant - but clean.
The site is generally under maintained everywhere, due primarily to the fact the family who own it are working the farm.
Food and drink was homely, nice and good value
for money. Staff in the bar and kitchen very pleasant. Significant investment and effort needed.
The one plus - PRICE - cheapest in Switzerland by some distance.

Our experience agrees with other reviews (in English). Camping on a farm in middle of bumpy field surrounded by seasonals? workers? caravans. Bit muddy and it was a dry day. Facilities clean and hot though rather primitive. We had planned to stay 2 days but moved on after 1 night.

Well, this is a basic site, just a large farm field and you can site yourself where you like. It is very rustic to put it politely! We love rural places as a rule but this was really too basic. There was a violent storm and the site was flooded badly, through the farm buildings and manure pile! We and many others were towed to higher ground by the farm tractor (they were very good with that) and campers had to sleep in the hay barns. We had water up to 4 inches inside our van and it took us 3 days to clean and dry everything out... However, it was a sudden flash flood and no one's fault! We continued on our holiday and put it down to experience. The area was not particularly wonderful and a long way from Lucerne.

Medium sized site on farm, various pitching areas, some flat, some slightly sloping. Narrow entrance road, but OK for larger vans with care. Some shade. All facilities in large barn type building, which also houses reception and a restaurant. This is up quite a steep hill from the pitches.
Waste water emptying in elevated toilet emptying point. Fresh water taps in pitching areas. Toilets and showers dated, insufficient when site busy.
Hook-up is stated as 10amps, however this is shared between 3 outlets. Swiss 3 pin type.
No marked pitches, chaotic when busy, units very close together with little or no space for car parking.
Generally quiet. Some seasonal vans.
Good for children. Covered pool. Pet animals. Play area.
Free WiFi.
Aldi and Lidl short drive away, turn right out of site.
Credit Cards NOT accepted.

They have a "countryfest" weekend in June when the site is packed and country music is played until very late. If you like a quiet life it is advisable to check which weekend it is due to take place.
