Excellent site will certainly stay here again. friendly reception and site service staff, lovely pool and bar. Very clean throughout especially the showers and toilets. l would have been even happier if I could have got a signal for my satellite dish but that\'s not their fault.
Very peaceful site totally recommended.
great location with views of the Loire and the chateaux. toilet facilities most great but when the site is busy (july and august) they can get a little dirty but then you\'ve got kids running in and out and dont tend to clean up. Plenty of hot water showers and sinks . staff very friendly and mostly very helpful. stayed for 5 weeks so must like it. Great walk into saumur town along the river (Only 10 mins) great market on Saturdays in main town. smaller 1 on Thursdays on the island main street. loads of great restaurants to try out. A must visit to one of the Saumur vin yards to try their sparking wine. As good as the champagne region. A visit to the mushroom caves is worth and to try the mushrooms cooked with varies fillings. Enjoyable walk around the out side of the site to the end of the island by the wier.
Great, well looked after site in a wonderful position. The site was fully booked when we arrived due to the Anjou Velo Vintage event that we had especiallycome for but fortunately we had booked. Helpful friendly staff, despite being under a lot of pressure. Great, good sized grass pitch with hedges and some shade (we chose a Privilege Pitch with water, drainage etc) . Facilities were clean and well looked after with good sized showers. Easy cycle ride to the town and beyond. We didn\\\'t try the pool but it looked clean and wasn\\\'t too busy.
I stayed for a couple of nights, lovely, right on the banks of the river. Very popular with Brits. 15 minute walk into Saumur, but if I come again, I’m coming with an electric bike! WiFi was a bit hit or miss, and I wasn’t that far away from the main reception. Shower blocks nice and clean, would come again.
pretty surroundings and marked pitches. pool is a decent size and is close to the bar, restaurant area. laundry facilities good and shower cubicles are a big size. staff are friendly and helpful. nearby the reception a tourist train takes you into the town.
Average campsite in useful location. Many pitches recently turned over to holiday homes. No direct access to river. Pitches average. Bring 20m power cable. Pool was green when we visited at start of season. Showers excellent. Not great for dog walking.
Busy site in fabulous location on an island in the Loire with stunning vista to Saumur Chateau. Very popular with Brits. The far end of the site was closed and the rest of the site was full when we visited. Mainly shaded pitches without river views due to trees/hedges. Good sanitary facilities but not cleaned as often as the better sites we have visited, but the showers are big and modern! Short walk to the town centre which is very pleasant - the Chateau is at best only an hour to see and not in the same league as Chenonceau - the best view is from the campsite. Stayed 2 nights and intend to return for cycling days out.
Didn't use sports facilities, swimming pool or child friendly so unfair rating, super location. Holiday spoilt by dreadful weather. Don't blame the site for that
This campsite is a real pleasure to stay at. For the site itself, where the staff are really friendly and helpful. But, also for the surroundings. It couldn\'t be better situated for visiting the wonderful town of Saumur and the surrounding area.
The amenities on the site are great. The showers and toilets are clean and well maintained.
There are grassy pitches and also hard pitches which are useful in wet weather.
The site was pleasant, however, we were very disappointed to be parked opposite the play area which according to the notice was for supervised 3-12 year olds. Not only were they unsupervised but by 9 pm the older youth had taken over and were extremely noisy until well after 11.30 pm. The guide note for the site specifies 'quiet all day and night'. There was no-one to complain to and the staff the following morning were not interested. The electric outlets in the shower block were unsuitable for a hairdryer. Stay here with children but not if you are hoping for peace!
