great showers and toilets, very modern and clean. nice swimming pool. BBQ meal offered Monday evening, home cooked and lots of variety. quiet and pleasant area.
Everything about this campsite is big. Big welcome from a friendly owner who shows you personally round, big pitches, big toilets and showers so absolutely nothing to complain about. Easy walk into the nearby village. Clearly we recommend.
Excellent camp run by a Dutch couple who deliver bread order to your campervan in the morning. Lovely big pitch . Beautiful countryside with fields and woods. We went on a lovely 9.5 k walk along paths which was well marked and outlined the hemp clothes making process. Lots of dog friendly walks well signposted and details available. Good showers and facilities. Would definitely recommend.
Would we stay here again, most definitely. The welcome and site walk through were excellent, all done with humour and professionalism. As dog owners the availability of walks in the woods to the nearby village. bread delivered to the camper door by Antony the owner, someone who seems to be continually working to improve his already excellent site. with 5 stars of anyone\'s money.
We stopped here for one night on our way to Royan. We received a very warm welcome from the owners who introduced themselves. We asked for a pitch which we could leave the car attached. We were taken to the pitch and were amazed at the size it must have been about 20m X 15m.
The swimming pool looked very inviting although a bit small. The toilet block was immaculate. As was the rest of the site.
It is about 11 miles from Oradour Sur Glane which has a very disturbing story to tell. St Junien is also well worth a visit.
We will definitely return but will stay for longer.
We stayed 38 nights May/June 2016. Absolutely excellent site - can\'t fault anything. The shower block is modern and kept very clean (remember to take your own loo roll and soap) and the owners can be found around the site all day every day taking care of the pitches. There is a heated pool which is cleaned every day. The site is on the edge of a forest (no BBQs permitted) with walks immediately from the site either into the village or into the forest. It\'s in an excellent location for sightseeing - St Junien, Rochechouart, Oradour Sur Glane etc. The owners show every new arrival around the site, there is bread available in the mornings and shared meals on certain days throughout the week. Would highly recommend.
Visited the site in September 2015 so many things were closed/not available as expected. The swimming pool was closed but looked attractive though may be a little small if site were full. Pitches are mostly larger than on many sites. Pitched a twin axle caravan without any problem. Pitches marked out with low hedges and fences. There are not many sites where your morning bread is delivered to the door or where the owner shows you around before you choose your pitch!
Really pleasant husband and wife team who are always available to help.
Toilet block is probably the cleanest we have ever seen. Although two years old the block looked as if it opened that week!!
Would certainly recommend it and will definitely return.
An excellent, well maintained and friendly site with large placements. Good surrounds, able to walk/cycle into local village with shops and cafés and very near Limoges and Oradour sur Glanne. Owners offer a communal meal twice a week which was lovely and morning bread orders are delivered to your door. Good sanitary block but lost one point as no toilet paper supplied. Would definitely recommend this site.
Dutch owned site with some enormous pitches – grassy, hedged and level. Wifi to pay – but couldn’t get on.
Lots of Brits on site whilst we were there – Rotarian Rally. New toilet block with warmish showers, no toilet paper. Walk to plan d’eau down the road with lots of frogs, manmade beach too, swimming possible.
This is a unique and beautiful site, very welcoming. It isn\'t often if ever that the site owner shows you to your pitch. The pitches themselves are absolutely huge, and any ordered bread etc is delivered to your pitch each morning. The toilet block is well maintained. I would however prefer if toilet paper was supplied rather than having to bring ones own! This is a great site for visiting Oradour sur Glane, which is well worth a visit; it is very poignant. I would definitely recommend visiting the Visitor Centre firstly, (well worth the admission fee) as this sets the whole atrocity in historical context, and adds to the subsequent visit to the town. I found it a very moving experience.
