Great facilities although not all were open yet. Beware the weekend invasion of locals with feral children and dogs. It can get unbearably noisy. Otherwise great site with helpful staff and impeccable toilets
Large site, not enough toilet blocks.
Swimming pools not open despite being very warm.
Shop had limited opening times.
Vilanova park might not be to everyone\'s taste as it is very very large, but it\'s all done so well. The pitches are large and spacious and generally flat. The campsite shop is well stocked and not particularly expensive. The indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were all free during the weekdays we stayed. There are loads of toilets and showers that seem to be constantly cleaned. There are football courts and table tennis tables. The bar / restaurant is nice. The staff are all friendly and helpful. There is a bus you can get from out side the campsite entrance to the centre Barcelona and you can buy tickets on the bus or buy a book of tickets in the onsite souvenir shop.
This is what all campsites should be! An excellent location to see Barcelona, Sitges, etc... Bus stop right at the gate!
We were really impressed with the size of our pitch and to be honest, it looked like all pitches were of a great size. The shower block was always very clean and excellent all round.
The staff were very welcoming everywhere and the restaurant/bar is of a high quality with knowledgeable staff regarding food and wine selection. We were there during February, but the pool (one of several I believe) looked amazing.
We shall come back - Thank You!
A very large self-contained site, \'holiday camp\' atmosphere. A bit impersonal but nothing to complain about. Pitches divided by hedges, levellers needed as sloping. A long walk between facilities which could pose a problem for the less mobile. Good modern washroom facilities, all pitches have ehu & water, well stocked mini-market. Restaurant (can\'t comment as didn\'t eat there) & bar with plenty of outside tables & seating. Bus right outside campsite to Sitges & Barcelona which runs every half hour. Indoor Swimming pool open in winter & large outdoor pool in summer, a bit \'municipal\' no style in design but illuminated at night which is pretty. Separate children\'s pool. A good site but no personality. Very large supermarket in Vilanova worth stocking up first if a longer stay.
From the moment you enter the gate and enter the reception and speak to the staff who all speak perfect English you get the impression that this is a professionally run site. We were allocated a pitch and then a man led us to the pitch in a vehicle. We decided to move to a different more level pitch and when I informed the reception they said \"As long as you\'re happy we\'re happy\". The pitches are on stepped terraces and overlook the town and the sea front which is some distance away. There is water and drainage on each pitch if you have a drainage pipe. The pitches are a good size. The toilet block is impressive with a newly built modern block with a water feature and garden inside each of the male and female blocks. The showers were really nice and toilets were clean with a cleaner who always seemed to be there cleaning up after you. There is a supermarket on the site open during the winter which is very well stocked. There is also a bar with a tv where there were regular football games shown. There was a restaurant just off the bar where there was a good variety of reasonably priced meals.
Villanova I la Gertrude is a lovely vibrant town with plenty of shops and there is a beautiful seafront with plenty of eateries and restaurants. There is a hyper market in Villanova which is huge and it sells very cheap fuel. We also used a DIY store called AKI which was similar to a Homebase. A lovely site and a nice town. I would recommend this for a longer stay. The only downside was the trees in the winter as they cut out a lot of the sunshine on the plots but I was later told after we left that the trees were trimmed just after we left.
Big, big site, open all year, good facilities with bar, restaurant and good wifi available at the bar with a drink. Bus into town for as much shopping as you want. Intinerants such as ourselves in motor homes are confined to the shabby side of town next to the sawmill. But so what I can\'t think of a better out of season stopover, you wouldn\'t even have to unpack. Small supermarket onsite, coffee all day long, a reasonably priced meal and a drink should you want it and your done. Plenty seem to take advantage of the deals and the facilities and stay long term. Can\'t see us staying in the summer months.
This site has a lot of pluses and minuses.Good size pitches, decent toilets etc decent supermarket.
The downsides are its noisy, dark and miserable the wifi is terrible and expensive ,you have to get a bus anywhere you want to go ,the touring pitches are next to a noisy smelly timber yard .....it just didn\'t do it for us ....sorry but wouldn\'t recommend.
Try to avoid the area where the German Hoffmanns has got their camp with 3-400 crazy German youngsters! They make noise 24h a day and there is quite a lot of drinking and shouting going on during nighttime. The camping staff do not seem to care very much?
