We stayed 4 nights here and enjoyed it, spoiled only by a sloppy reception upon leaving.
This is a big site with plenty of facilities and good sized pitches, some of them with hardstandings. It seems to be a haven for long-term over-winter Brits, but there are plenty of other long term residents and we were between two Finns. The site is about a 15-20 minute walk to the attractive little town of Conil, and at the bus station you can get a direct bus to Cadiz that is very cheap.
The walking and surroundings are good, the restaurant gave us a good meal, and there seems to be a lot of activities going on with the long term residents.
When leaving we wanted to get away early for a long journey north, so we\'re at reception at 8.55am waiting for it to open at 9. Everyone was late, and it took ages, which was annoying. Not even an apology!
Booked to spend 6 weeks here Dec-Jan but stayed 4 months. Great tidy site, excellent staff, bar and restaurant also good. Conil de la Frontera is a decent walk away and a proper Spanish town with more beach than you need. Lots of regular over wintering people here. Yes you pay for electricity but even after running up €135 electricity bill in the first month it still only worked out at €19 a night including the pitch. We went over to Spanish gas and the electric bill dropped to €14 a month. The gas was delivered to our pitch too. Nothing is too much trouble here. Will return next winter without a doubt. By far the best site in the area...we visited the others and none came close to this one
Second visit to his site and standards have been maintained, great site, well set out with amazing facilities, the pool area is fantastic, would definitely recommend this site.
The only down side to this site is that you have to pay with cash as card payment are not excepted, also you are only allowed four units of electricity per day, enough to run a fridge basically and not much more, over that you have to pay extra.
Just spent two nights at this site after leaving Portugal. Everything fine. Nice enough town. The only grumble I have is that with ACSI you only get 4 \'units\' of electricity per day. 4 units is about enough to run the fridge, boil the kettle a couple of times and dry my short hair with a dryer. Good job the showers are good.
Very nice campsite with spacious pitches all with deviding hedging, reception helpful with good English. The pool area is stunning and makes this site almost perfect, the restaurant unfortunately was closed but did look beautiful, the kids play area will entertain kids for hours. Beach and town with supermarkets are close by, 20 to 30 min walk away. Now for the only downside of this site which is beyond the control of the site, there is a dog which lives in one of the house nearby which starts barking at about 10 o\'clock every night and does not stop until about 0630 the following morning, we spent seven days on site and I\'d barked every night and I really do mean barked all night. Having said that I would recommend this site, smashing site, just be prepared for the dog.
Beautiful beaches-Conil great little town-staff really great-town and beaches a short cycle ride away- would return - mid June on can get busy, particularly at weekends.
One of the best camp sites in Southern Spain, helpful and friendly staff, good restaurant and nice pool area, closed at the time of our visit. Conil is a laid back town, best times May-June, Sept- October. Great dog friendly beach. Toilets etc. modern, good and clean.
A truly excellent site for winter stays. We use it for several weeks every year. Pitches can get a bit muddy after heavy rain and better all weather surfaces would be an improvement but still going back next year for 2 months
Slightly disappointed to find on arrival that our stay had to be limited to 45 days. However we were later to find that having moved to another site people who had been on the site before we arrived were allowed to stay on for longer than 45 days.
Pitches became muddy very quickly in rain.
The bar, restaurant, and swimming pool were closed. They closed on October 1st and were not to reopen until 26th of November. The shop initially opened for 4 hours, this was reduced to 2 hours and then closed for Sundays and Holidays.
We were told that the electricity cost approximately 1-2 euro per day. Despite good weather and only using limited electricity it worked out at well over double.
Excellent site with a supermarket on site and a larger one within walking distance. Several toilet blocks, all with spacious showers and toilets, well maintained. Hot water available from a separate tap for hand and dish washing. Larger pitches (2 combined) available in our period in June for larger outfits at a discounted cost of 20.85 euros. My only complaint was that the trees are left unpruned to give shelter which meant that my tall van couldn't be sited in several pitches and the staff refused to cut even small branches back.
Visitors with animals are asked to stay in one half of the site.
The beach is 25 minutes walk away and the easiest way to walk into Conil centre is along the beach.
Staff very friendly and helpful - except when wanting branches cut back!
Large swimming pool with plenty of sun beds.
Came fit 2 days and stayed for 7!
