Drove 5 hours + to visit this site only to be told I couldn\'t stay as I had 2 dogs. ACSI states 2 dogs allowed but site rules says 1 dog only! Very hot day with panting dogs so not very happy at all
VISITED BEFORE, 2 years previous, things have changed. Staff not very friendly, just doing their job. WIFI for 2 nights or for 4. Campsite WIFI, kept getting kicked off. Went to reception, \"I\'m
having problems with my WIFI, he says \"you must phone the number on the login/password card I gave you\" ME \"moi\" him \"yes\" me, \"sorry, I paid you for 2 days WIFI, very expensive, you phone them\" he picks up the phone, dials the number and hands the phone to me. GRRRRRRR. (all in french BTW) Problem sorted until we gets back to the campsite that night. Same thing happening, keep getting kicked off. Phones the number, sorry office is closed for less than 5 hours WIFI. staff could not give a toss.
we stayed here one night in July, just outside of the ACSI season. We have a 7.5 metre motorhome and our pitch was tiny, we could not extend our awning. The caravan next door was less than 1 metre away. The \"shop\" was tiny and had hardly anything for sale. There is no bar and a very limited amount of takeaway food. The pool was OK. There seemed to be alot of permanent residents on site. The night we were there there was alot of noise from other residents. Unfortunately I would not recommend this site and fail to see how it is classed as a 4 star.
Visited during early September and the site was pretty empty - able to pitch virtually where we liked. Good toilet & shower facilties. Helpful reception staff who all spoke good English. Located on eastern DDay beaches and close to a number of DDay places to visit. Would return.
Large site with well laid out pitches. We only used it as an overnight stop but there seemed to be plenty of activities for all ages. Toilet facilities well kept considering the number of people using them (no seats or toilet paper!). Would stay again but probably not in high season.
Having stayed here a number of times ,this time was equally good. The new proprietors have been busy updating the site. When we needed to leave early- The staff were really helpful . I\'m sure we\'ll be back as we never get tired of the site or the area.
This site had good size pitches but you will need levelling chocks in a motorhome. We arrived here very early in the season and staff were still getting things ready. Swimming pool etc. sections of pitches were mud that had been seeded so it\'s hard to give accurate review of what this would be like when ready. The showers and toilets were adequate, clean and warm water but not the best we have had. A lovely beach is just 400m away. It was a good stop over but for us just 1 night.
One night stay mid-September on way south. Only stayed here because Le Point du Jour was full. Pitches ok with well kept grass. Facilities clean. If you want an early start next morning do NOT stay here as office does not open until 9.30 in low season and manager would not accept payment on arrival. Most rude and unhelpful when we located him at his house at 8.30. \"Not my problem, I work long hours\"
I was at this campsite from 30th May until the 10th of June with some of my friends and my son for the Normandy commemorations and memorial services My son did a parachute drop out of the Dakota onto Merville battery Drop Zone, and the camp site accommodation was Fantastic for our needs to be near to our objectives for visiting the near by memorial sites we also were at the Pegasus Bridge also Ranville memorials with the French UNP we had a great time and this campsite was the best place to be when relaxing after a long day I would recommend the Les Peupliers campsite to all my friends and family who are visiting France in the Normandy Region
this was going to be just a few nights stop over before travelling further south. However having sited the caravan and looked at what the area had to offer we ended up spending all our holiday at the campsite. The toilet and shower block facilities were very clean, as was the laundry and dishwashing facilities. We stayed for 18 days and enjoyed visiting the world war monuments and museums. We arrived on 12th September and departed on 30th September. There is a childrens play park and an outdoor swimming pool. Its only 30minutes from the ferry port at ouistreham. We have booked again for next September.
