This is an excellent campsite. Flat pitches, some with a great view of Beynac castle, clean modern facilities and a nice new pool are the main points. Sunsets behind the castle can be spectacular. There is a bar and a small restaurant which also does some takeaway meals. Fresh bread and croissants can be ordered for morning pickup and there is a small shop stocking basics. It takes about 15mins to walk into Beynac and there is a lot to do and see within a very short distance. The gardens at Marquessac are very near and have a view over the Dordogne that is amazing. The view from the pretty village of Domme is also good and castles at Beynac, Castelnaud and Milandes are worth a visit with the latter including a falconry display. A little further afield the Vezere valley offers more pretty villages and the prehistory sites. Sarlat is about 5 miles away and has a nice old town with lots of eating places and the usual large supermarkets.
Staff on the site spoke several languages and were always very pleasant and helpful.
Lovely friendly well run campsite peaceful and great location to visit Beynac and Salat etc. beautiful swimming pool. we spent a week meeting up with old friends and exploring old haunts of years gone by.
Great pool, and lovely position near to the Dordogne. The easy walk into the town was a bonus, but even more was the stunning castle, which was well worth the entrance fees. This area is worth longer stays, and we will definitely be back.
Closest site to Beynac following a trail through the wood. Watch for the deer & fawn. Run by a very helpful couple who arranged kayaking for us with Canoe Détente. A fabulous 14km kayak. Would love to have stayed longer as terrific marked walks & cycles in the area but sadly it\'s time for us to head north
Retired couple with touring caravan joined by our younger family who stayed in a site bungalow.
Stayed for three weeks on this excellent camp site run by Dutch/French family who seem to care a lot about the site and work hard at it.
Large pitches with good facilities & bungalows well equipped. Lovely swimming pool much needed due to lengthy heat wave. Great views of Beynac Chateau from our caravan porch..
Brilliant site for touring the Dordogne region with boat trips and kayak/canoe hire locally available. Large supermarkets handy in Sarlat (6 miles).
Lots and lots to do and see around here, such as La Roque-Gageac, Beynac, Domme, Chateau Castelnaud, Les Eyzies de Tayac, etc, etc.
Highly recommend this campsite.
We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2015. Here\\\'s the important things we found.
Really friendly & helpful staff. Quiet, peaceful & located right in the heart of the Dordogne Valley
Wonderful view over the valley & up to Baynac chateau. Spacious pitches. backing onto fields of Sweet Corn Good electric supply. Baguettes & cakes to order. Lovely swimming pool & child\\\'s play area. Approx 10k from Sarlat ( we cycled) 5k from La Roque Gageac & about an hour drive from Rocamadour or Perigueux ( in opposite directions) Fantastic area - recommend Sarlat market on a Saturday
Will be back to this special part of the world
A nice site with a lovely view of Beynac château from a number of the pitches. Good welcome and the pitches were fine. An easy walk into Beynac and up to the château however there is not much other than that there. There are places to eat however if the price of the coffees is a guide it may not be budget. Sarlat and this area of the Dordogne is a lovely area to explore and we would go back.
We agree with other positive comments here - a pleasant, well-run site in a popular area, with a ‘short cut’ footpath across the fields to Beynac. Pitches are well laid out with hedges & mature trees, with a mix of sun & shade; a few pitches also have a distant view of the Chateau. Everything is kept neat & tidy, sanitary facilities are plentiful & clean. Young couple running the site are friendly & helpful & speak good English. 30mins free wi-fi per day. We would happily stay here again.
Relaxing site we really love it here and have stayed several times. The owners are smashing nothing too much trouble. The site is clean and very well kept swimming pool lovely. Recommend to everyone. We go out of school holidays but know they do arrange good times for the kids if you do go then. Surrounding area has loads to see and do. Fantastic site.
We went as a couple in a Motorhome and our Daughter & Son In Law and two children in a rented chalet.
First impressions, of the campsite was it looked very tired, and needed tidying, and minor repairs. There was a slab missing from the entrance to the swimming pool and the racking that you put your shoes in looked really grotty, and although the pitches were fine and kept really well, the perimeters of the site looked a bit overgrown in places, especially around the toilet block area.
Our pitch was very large and this was one of the first French holidays we have had without the electric tripping.
The chalet was very clean and compact and value for money, the main criticism was the lack of cooking facilities, there was a hob and no oven or grill, and for a family of four, this was insufficient.
Apart from these minor negative points, it was a really friendly site, staff were very helpful and the location was second to none and the view was fantastic.
