Village a long walk. Pitch large enough for 7.5m MH + Awning +trailer + Motorbike. Only 6 sunbeds available. No Dogs in pool area rule not enforced. Pool V clean but cold. Menu of the daily unchanged for 2 weeks.
A one night stop en route to the Costa and the site was fine for that. I think that a longer stay would be enjoyable also as there were good facilities, a restaurant on site (closed during our visit) and several cafes and restaurants in the nearby small town. The pitches are small - at least in the section we used - and manoeuvring the caravan in between trees made me grateful for the motor mover!. The road into and out of the town was hilly, twisty in places but very picturesque. All in all a good stopover and one I would visit again. Recommended
Nice and tidy terraced site overlooking the lake. Easy to walk a dog offsite.Minimal facilities in February. We walked to the monestary over the hills and along the river. Got in the back way free of charge. We didn't know there was a charge!
The campsite is spread over a number of terraces over looking the swimming pool and lake. The pitch was big enough to fit our car and 7m caravan but not big enough for us to put our awning up. The campsite was clean and friendly, but only the lower toilet and shower block was open, and this could do with improving. The drive to the campsite is fairly straight forward after leaving the motorway but if you are heading from Madrid to Zaragoza watch out for the tunnels as you get near the campsite as they aren't lit and quite narrow (nothing unpleasant to drive through it's just you can find yourself plunged into darkness) The area is quite beautiful and if you get chance to visit Monasterio De Piedra it's worth going although the monasterio isn't that cheap.
Well, like a recent review, we were nearly put off coming to this wonderful site because of previous reviews from fellow Brits, like the mop and the lack of security near a main road - a main road, really??? Why oh why, we'll never understand!
We are enroute to Portugal so needed a stop over and this was the only site nearest to where we needed to be and were nearly put off by those reviews.
We were only going to stay here one night, but decided to stay another night. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Great value for money. The sites are a little small, we would agree, and they are steep, but neat and tidy and clean. Bathrooms are clean and totally adequate. And as for the new block, well, fabulous.
Please don't be put off by the reviews of 2015. Just not true.
Only regret - the weather changed dramatically, and we couldn't make use of the fabulous pool. Highly recommended.
We almost did not come to Lago resort, based on some of the reviews on this app, it sounded like a site to avoid.. Well we foumd it to be very agreeably, our pitch, whilst a bit narrow, is flat and looks over the swimmimg pool, the lake and the beautiful mountains. Someone complained about a dirty mop head in the showers, however. they did not mention the modern cubicles with private loo washbasin and wait for it.... multi jet, state of the art shower unit, with piping hot water. Service in the restaurant was a bit disorganized, our main course arrived first, salad some time later. The meal was very cheap, and the staff seemed pressed so we didnt make a fuss. Big pool, lawned lounging area with shaded trees. There are pitches on terraces, the roads are steep and there are lots of steps to negotiate. If your not too fit try and choose the lower pitches. There are many things to see near here, including the fabulous monistario de piedra with its wonderful gardens, and beautiful buildings.
Dont miss it.
Stayed two nights en route to Madrid. Good reception from English speaking owner. Site built into terraces on hillside so steep access to levelled pitches and steep climb to facilities block. Campsite redolent of Australia with scrub, pine trees, dust, light brown caked earth, it was an oasis in a hot arid area. We had good meals in the restaurant. We enjoyed our stay and would use again.
The area looks very interesting and we saw huge flocks of cranes by the lake. This would be an area of interest to walkers - dramatic landscape reminiscent of the wild west. The toilets and showers were dull, dirty and unkempt. The mop provided for cleaning the showers was filthy. Pitches were small and trees too low so that it was hard to get the motorhome on a pitch and very difficult to get it off again. We had to reverse right out on to the access road and it was a struggle. (7.3 metre motorhome) Minimal staffing at this time of year.
We arrived at this site intending to stay for one night before continuing our journey south. The reception was closed at 1200 and we were told to sort out a pitch and return to reception at 1600. Most of the site was closed off and the remaining pitches were extremely small and of mud, dirt and sand. The roads to the south from the site are in extremely poor condition making it hardly worth the effort of visiting.
