Travelling party: Couple

Very relaxing and quiet site. Great views if you get down to the bottom of the site where you can see over the lake and the lavender fields (far distance!)
Great friendly welcome, reception could not have been better!
Wifi is free and in the bar/terrace area, which again has amazing views.
Ideally you need a car/scooter to get around from here if you stay for any length of time. There is a bus that runs along one side of the Verdon Gorges. Also a bus that goes down to the lake, but only in July & August.
About a 3 mile walk downhill to the lake, which is OK, just a bit of a hike back up!

Travelling party: Couple

The campsite sits above the village of Aiguines which is a round 7 km above Lac de Sainte – Croix.
An asset to this campsite is its excellent views from the bar /Restaurant balcony which are fabulous. The campsite is situated on a hill and many pitches are not level . However, there is a good area of the site where there are level pitches which suit caravans and mobile homes. Some pitches offer great views of the lake.
Access is fairly good via a twisting road but some outfits may encounter some difficulty leaving the site due to loose chippings and wheel spin near the bottom of the site and at a section close to the top of the steep ascent. A friends outfit (two wheel drive ) needed a run up to start his ascent and did not dare drop from 1st gear until he reached the top. No such difficulties with a four wheel drive. Two sanitary blocks of good standard very clean and well maintained. The site offers shade and sunshine depending on what suits you. Our pitch at the bottom of the site had sunshine from early morning until after 9pm. Brilliant sunsets when we were there in June. The campsite staff were all very friendly and helpful. The village is less than five minutes walk from the campsite and has a few bars, restaurants, shops. Only one small grocery shop is available and the nearest Supermarket is at Aups about 12 miles away via a good road. The cheapest fuel around was also available there. The attractions here are of course the Grand Canyon of Verdon. The campsite is situated on the D71 which is one of the site seeing routes. The other is the lake of Sainte – Croix which I have to say is one of the most beautiful lakes in France and offers just enough activity without spoiling the atmosphere of it’s surroundings. Altogether this is a lovely area of France.
