We arrived a wet weather so things could have looked better if the sun had been out. The reception staff we polite and spoke good English. We were given a plan and told that we could pitch where we wanted bearing in mind that only the 1 toilet block was open as it was low season. We were surprised to see so many fixed units on site with camping pitches spread amongst them or on one side of the site. We at one point left the motorhome and walk on foot to find a suitable pitch. If we had been told this at the outset it would have made life much easier to negotiate the site with an 8 metre motorhome. Site was designed for good weather that we were not fortunate to have. We walked into Les Sables armed with a map provided by reception along the \"prom\" a good walk of about 3 -4 kms. A lovely walk with a good sea view on safe pathways shared with bicycles in some places. Site could do with a bit of TLC, a strange position for a site situated within a housing estate. Ok for a couple of nights en route to the south but not for a prolonged stay. WiFi available at the bar free of charge.
Quiet campsite outside sables itself. Large pitch, basic facilities but all that\'s needed available. Used as a stopover site. Showers need to be pressed every 10 seconds which was a bit annoying. Cycle paths from the site and the beach is less than 1km away with great views of the Atlantic crashing on the shoreline. Swimming pool good.
Very good site with very friendly staff, excellent english spoken. Nice and close to bus stop. Site was very clean as were the toilets and showers. We stayed in September 2014. Would recommend this site.
Visited this site in late May 2013. The weather had been poor for an extended period so the site was even more quiet than the off-season norm. It is located in a quiet district of pleasant, mainly single level housing and is within walking distance of the coast. English is spoken and the staff friendly. The pitches are hedged and vary in size. We would use again.
Visited this site last year, so decided to come again this year, unfortunately we made a bad decision. We were pitched adjacent to 5 French male adolescents who on night one parted until 2 am, and on night 2 the same again, but this time the noise continued until 4 am and worst of all we found someone had used our pitch and deficated on it. Cleaning up human waste is not a nice thing. We left the site the same day. Moral to this saga, don't visit this site in the 'high season'.
This evaluation has been obtained by our inspector from a questionnaire at the camp site.
Visited this site in late May early June 2011, found the staff very friendly and helpfull. The site contains Holiday Homes as well as individual camp pitches.
The pitches are well defined, although the electric hook ups are not on every pitch, I would check where you want to pitch and ensure that you can reach the EHU point.
Not withstanding that comment, it was an excellent site on our visit 'out of season'.
A very nice campsite, very clean and dog friendly. we stayed 3 nights and would go back. The owner was friendly and helpful.
We live in England and have had our travel trailer permanently pitched on this campsite for a couple of years. We find the whole experience here excellent and the everyone is so helpful. The management speak English which is a bonus as we speak little to no French.
We were here in June and can't wait to return in August.
