At Campsite Orbitur Costa de Caparica in Costa de Caparica (Setúbal) camping costs as little as €19,- per night during low season with CampingCard ACSI. At one of the 250 touring pitches you will get a discounted rate during the period 01/01 - 30/06 and 25/09 - 31/12. At this campsite you can not only use your CampingCard ACSI for inexpensive camping, you can also use your ACSI Club ID (as an alternative ID).
A campsite where improvements are much in evidence. Many touring pitches are very sandy. The new part has virtually no shade. The older part under the pine trees is almost completely divided into plots by hedges.

This is a good site if you would like to visit Lisbon. Transport links are good with frequent bus and ferry services. Reception has detailed and helpful info. We went in by bus and came back by ferry and would definitely recommend the latter as you arrive in the very interesting Belem district rather than the bus terminus which is a long way from the centre( use the metro as the walk is long and tedious). The site is OK although some pitches are a little cramped for a larger unit. Good beach and promenade about 10 min walk from the gate
Although the site is mainly set up for long term caravan/cabins it\'s more than adequate for tourers.
Pitches level and large, long electric cables used and a key is supplied to turn on your power point, wifi poor but ok at the bar area, Toilet blocks dated but clean, small supermarket selling basic items.
5 mins cycle ride to a beautiful beach and promenade which has plenty of bars to choose from, where you sit with a drink and watch the surfers.
Perfect site to visit Lisbon, the kind lady at reception explained how to get there using bus or bus and ferry (we used both bus there and ferry back)very easy to do and well worth the journey. Overall a good site and we would return.
Stayed here mid March 2016 with a motorhome & trailer. Only pitches designated for vans are alongside the busy main road but some smaller spaces available tucked back a little. Site is almost exclusively for long termers with static & fixed caravans occupying most of the site. We just wanted it as a base really to visit Lisbon on our scooter.
Staff were friendly but the check in process is a bureaucratic nightmare with ACSI card not acceptable as ID. Lots of bus & ferry timetable info given. The site, as with all Orbitur sites we\'ve visited, is jaded and run down. This will be the last time. Toilets are just useable but with broken seats, left dirty...etc. However the showers were piping hot at 10.30pm. No point in retiring early to bed as the constant aeroplane noise overhead doesn\'t cease until midnight.
The access roads are a nightmare with severe hollows & humps due to tree roots. It\'s a brave (& skilful) man that can thread his motorhome through the tight access roads internally.
If you just want a base to visit Lisbon for a few days then it\'s OK I suppose.
Take note that the ferries are just passenger ferries but we saw guys taking push bikes on.
Camp site OK, but caters for long term caravan pitches. Main area for motorhomes right next to very noisy busy road. Also smell of petrol fumes from traffic. Good size pitches though and level. Electric was always cutting out. Even when we were just putting on a kettle. Luckily as there weren\'t a lot of others at the site we could plug into different sockets. Need a long lead on certain pitches, blue boxes cater for a lot of electric sockets. Having said all that the camp site is in a great place for the beach which is about a 10 minute walk. And it\'s worth the walk. Great for cycling also. Campsite gate to the beach was closed when we were here, so had to go out of the camp site and up a long path, but pleasant walk if the weather is good. Also ideal for travel to Lisbon Have to get a bus to ferry then ferry across.
This review has been written to correct errors in \"matters of fact\" contained in previous reviews. The helpful site staff provided us with 3 useful maps and timetables for 2 bus routes and a riverboat. If you want to go to Belem (a good day out in itself) then get the boat from Trafaria. But if you want to go to central Lisbon you do not need to use the boat - there is an excellent fast (20 mins) and frequent (2-4 per hour) direct bus (161) from Caprica to Lisbon which yoy can catch at a bus stop 15 mins walk from canpsite. This was an excellent base from which to explore Lisbon and surrounding area.
Although ACSI Discount card rates ended 30/9, we paid far less than the ACSI App guide price during our stay in October 15. With an 8m caravan etc, we paid a cheap price per night which is competitive for a capital city.
Do not be put off by negative reviews about long journeys to Lisbon or unhelpful staff - this site makes a great base to explore Lisbon and surrounds.
Seul bon point l\'accueil.
